'This particular painting has been through a lot, before the current pandemic, I was in a great state of depression, and the painting was removed from gallery walls. The painting itself represents the sheer inescapable feeling of being trapped in a state of hopelessness. During the pandemic, I had to move out from the UK back to the USA with my family, and many unfortunate events kept happening all around me, and that was when I decided to reflect on this painting, and place this work back up on a wall as a reminder that dark times are surely always present in life. But, it won't last forever, and there will be a time when I can take this painting back down and move on to more colorful pieces, and happier times.
Currently, I am working on a follow up to this piece, and I am staying home and away from public, trying my best to keep my mental health together.'
